How language filtering works

The Chathub Android app includes a language filter in its matching settings. Set the language you want to practice and, optionally, a country, and Chathub App prioritizes matching you with people who fit that preference. Language filtering is one of the app's premium matching filters (available on Lite and above); free matching remains available to everyone.

Getting the most out of a language-practice chat

• Say what you want up front. A simple opener — "Hi, I'm practicing Spanish, would you be willing to chat for a bit?" — sets expectations and gets better responses than diving in silently.
• Use voice or video for pronunciation practice and text chat when you want time to think through vocabulary and grammar.
• Offer to trade. Many people are happy to practice your language for a while if you help with theirs — it keeps the conversation balanced and interesting for both sides.
• It's fine to end a chat once you've had good practice, or if the conversation isn't a good fit — you can always find a new match.

Staying safe while practicing

A language-practice conversation is still a conversation with a stranger, so the same safety habits apply:

• Don't share your full name, address, or financial details.
• Be cautious if someone tries to move the conversation off Chathub App quickly — practice partners rarely need to.
• Every photo is AI-moderated and abusive text is filtered automatically, so you can focus on the conversation.
• If a chat turns uncomfortable, Block and Report work instantly, from any screen.
